The Alaska history performance standards, adopted by the State Board of Education, reflect the cumulative knowledge a student must demonstrate in order to fulfill the Alaska history graduation requirement. As such, it is these standards that are the primary focus of the course content and lesson plans. In addition to the Alaska History Performance Standards, lesson plans also reference the history, geography, and cultural content standards as appropriate.
