Marjorie Menzi
Marjorie Menzi, director of the Alaska History & Cultural Studies Curriculum Project, is a secondary social studies educator and holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University. While Social Studies Specialist for the AK Department of Education for 15 years, she was responsible for the development of the Social Studies Content Standards and Framework, Alaska Geographic Alliance and the Alaska Law-Related Education Program. She worked as a Special Assistant to Lt. Governor Fran Ulmer from 2000-2002. In 2005-06 she served on the Department of Education’s AK History Performance Standards Committee and was honored to be invited to join the Alaska Native Sisterhood. She is the recipient of the Alaska Historical Society’s 2005 Evangeline Atwood Award. Marjorie has seven children and is active in community organizations.
