Alaska Humanities Forum Biographies
Dr. Greg Kimura

Dr. Kimura is President and C.E.O. of the Alaska Humanities Forum. A fourth generation Alaskan from Chugiak-Eagle River, he holds an M.Div. from Harvard University, where he wrote a thesis on Zen Buddhism and Western philosophical thought, and a Ph.D. from Cambridge University in philosophy of religion. His dissertation on neopragmatism was published by Ashgate. He also has published fiction in U.S. and U.K. literary journals. Dr. Kimura was previously assistant professor of religion and humanities and chair of the Department of Liberal Studies at Alaska Pacific University. He is married to Joy Atrops-Kimura and has a son, Julian.
