Joan Antonson Biography

Joan (Jo) Antonson is the Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer and State Historian for the State of Alaska. She regularly teaches Alaska and U.S. history courses part-time at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Antonson is an associate editor of Alaska History, the journal of the Alaska Historical Society. Along with Dr. William S. Hanable, she wrote a high-school textbook, Alaska’s Heritage, published in 1986.
